Project Reflection:
In my critique group was Jacob, Ethan, and Sandra. We collaborated well together and got our work done, I think because were all comfortable with each other. For the english side of this project I made an essay, alternate identity, annotated ten articles about my topic, an alternate art piece, stencil art and artist statements for all my art. I learned many different things about my topic. While doing this project I changed my stance on my topic; in the beginning I was Pro-Life but after doing research and exploring this issue more I changed it to Pro-Choice Conservative. Pro-Choice Conservative means I think it should be illegal except for the cases of rape or incest. Also I learned many interesting facts. One in particular that I will remember and definitely take away is that when women are in their second trimester and have an abortion, the procedure is totally from a regular abortion. Instead of the baby being sucked out by a vacuum the procedure is dilation and evacuation, where forceps are used to tear the baby apart instead of just taking the baby out whole. This is ten times worse, not only is this murder but brutal.
One thing that went really well was my essay, I put a lot of effort and hard work in to my essay. I made at least four drafts and got it revised four times. Everything was pretty easy except I did have some trouble with my alternate identity. I had a really hard time coming up with a character that has to do with abortion and can make a personal connection to the topic. It took me a long time to finish but I eventually did. I would improve my alternate identity and add a little more details about my character and go a more in depth with my characters personal connection. I would have took the presentations that we did because those were not fun, I really was not looking forward to it. It just added more stress because then I had worry about my presentation and focus on preparing that when I was already stressed about exhibition and I could have used the extra work time to better prepare my binder and practice what I was going to say more.
